Among May festivals in our land of cultural diversity, Holi is one of those few ones that join the whole country in one string. Known as the “festival of colours” or the “festival of love”, Holi signifies the victory of true power over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others.

This great Indian festival lasts for a day and a night that begins in the evening of Purnima or the Full Moon Day in the month of Falgun. On the first evening of the festival, it is celebrated with the name Holika Dahan or Choti Holi and the following day is called Holi.

Over the years, people in different parts of India have made their own traditions of celebrating Holi. In fact, several family traditions have developed over time.

Some visit family and friends while others quietly exchange greetings. Whatever be the tradition, it should be the way to have fun and bond with people you love.

You can have such bonding amongst your office colleagues too by planning a joyous celebration in office and make your own traditions.

Here are 6 unique Holi celebration ideas for office spaces or workplaces;

Arrange Holi Party

The best way to celebrate Holi is planning a grand office party. So, arrange a party at the office before your employees leave for their respective hometowns to celebrate the festival with their family.

It will be really very exciting and a great excuse for everyone to have a great party with their colleagues. Arrange colours, cuisines, and drinks for them and let them enjoy Holi with the utmost vehemence.

Make a Canvas

Make a big canvas and let people use colours to draw anything that they want to do on that canvas. Holi is all about colours, so the idea of studying a canvas with random drawings is quite apt.

It is also great to create a collage of handprints or you can tell your employees to splatter various colours all over the canvas to make it colourful. Make sure that someone is mentoring it otherwise they can create a mess on the canvas or splatter colours all over the floor.

Decorate Your Office

Use flowers to decorate the place and add a touch of tradition at your workplace. Colour obviously has to be the central theme of your decor. Use colourful dupattas to add the colourful touch. Also, create a rangoli at the entrance or a common area.

If you do not want to make your whole office colours, decorate the entrance of your office only. Put some garlands of flowers at the entry door. Put some colourful patterns onto the walls if you are okay with colours all around.

Host an Interfriendtion

The festival of Holi is about forgiving and forgetting. So this day is the best time to try and end conflicts. Make peace amongst team and people who are at loggerheads in the office. Ask every team members to come and shake hands with each other. If there are some conflicts among them, ask them to forgive each other and forget the past. It is easy in saying but tough in doing. With time, it will get into better collaboration and teamwork. With it, you will revive the spirit of Holi- the new beginning.

Play Games

Arrange some games to involve everyone in it. You can organize a Thandai drinking competition or Gujiya eating contest. Arranging some group games like water gun colour play competition among your employees are also a great option.

You can also play traditional games like sakli or lagori. It is a way to bring out the child in your employees.

Have Holi Special Lunch

It is not possible for any company to organize a party with colours and loud music. But one can turn down a special launch replete with traditional eats. It is going to be a source of immense joy for foodies. You can call chefs and tell them to make a traditional Holi meal.
