In anticipation of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the "Meri Mati Mera Desh" campaign as a tribute to the brave martyrs of the nation. This campaign aims to commemorate the sacrifices made by these courageous souls and instil a sense of patriotism among the citizens.
In a special announcement, Prime Minister Modi declared the commencement of the "Meri Mati Mera Desh" campaign during his monthly Mann Ki Baat radio address.
As the country approaches August 15 and the "Amrit Mohatsav" gains momentum nationwide, this initiative holds significant importance.
The "Meri Mati Mera Desh" campaign will extend nationwide, reaching every gram panchayat. A grand event is planned in New Delhi from August 9 to August 15, 2023, which will witness the participation of 75,000 youths from various corners of the country.
This celebratory event will radiate positivity, patriotism, and gratitude towards freedom fighters, motivating the youth to contribute to India's path towards becoming a global leader by 2047.
As part of India's 75th Independence Day celebration under the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," the Union government has launched the "Meri Mati Mera Desh" campaign.
The campaign revolves around using soil collected from all corners of the nation during August to create the "Amrit Vatika" garden along the Kartavya Path in Delhi. The campaign's objectives are structured around a five-point agenda:
Monuments will be erected to honour those who sacrificed for the nation. These monuments will bear the names of the Bravehearts, serving as a lasting tribute to their immense contributions to the nation's freedom, unity, and integrity.
People will gather at memorial locations to take a solemn pledge, reaffirming their unwavering dedication to the country's values and principles.
Under the "Vasudha Vandhan" initiative, each gram panchayat and village will plant 75 seedlings of indigenous species. This effort aims to rejuvenate Mother Earth and establish "Amrit Vatikas", or Eternal Gardens.
Families of fallen freedom warriors and living freedom fighters will be honoured. This recognition will extend to the families of those who lost their lives in service and retired military personnel, CAPF members, and state police officers.
The National Anthem will resonate as the National Flag is raised in unison, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotism and pride.
Events will be organised at various levels, from panchayat and village to block, urban local bodies, state and national levels. Young volunteers will collect soil from every panchayat and hamlet, which will be ceremoniously brought to Delhi in "Mitti Kalash", or pots of soil.
This soil will construct the "Amrit Vatika," a unique garden that celebrates national unity and the heroes of India's freedom struggle adjacent to Delhi's Kartavya Path.
The campaign will also feature an "Amrit Kalash Yatra," transporting soil and plants from villages and other parts of the nation to Delhi.
A total of 7,500 Kalash containing earth and vegetation will contribute to constructing the "Amrit Vatika" beside the National War Memorial, adding to the campaign's significance.
With the "Meri Mati Mera Desh" campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invites the entire nation to join hands in honouring the sacrifices of the past and forging a united path towards a prosperous and globally influential India.
